A remarkable antique Scottish brooch from the mid Victorian era (Circa 1860). The piece has a distinctive, spiralling design inlaid with colourful agates and golden pastes, the largest of which simulates a large, 6.5ct citrine in the centre.
Scottish jewellery grew in popularity in the mid- 1800s as Queen Victoria’s frequent trips to her Scottish Castle Balmoral saw her return with Scottish souvenirs and jewellery which influenced the trend in Britain.
It’s crafted in silver and features detailed, engraving around each stone. It’s a wonderful piece of history and has remained in pristine condition.
